Silvestersnacks & Happy New Year
Precious Moments
There aren’t many precious moments in one’s short life. The very few that we experience can be counted on one hand: the first day at school, the first kiss, victorious moments, the first time we had intercourse, the birth of a child, and maybe the phenomenon of one celestial body that obscures the other, be it a lunar or a solar eclipse. What all these moments have in common is that they are rare, and that make them extraordinary in a way.
It seems 2016 was full of these precious moments. What a year! The year in which I turned 30 was full of adventures and achievements. From the best food in Mexico to turquoise water in Belize, to spectacular sepultures in Guatemala, to awesome surf and a 12 m waterfall jump in Costa Rica, to an inspiring trip to New York, to relaxing holidays in Rhodos, to an delicious and thrilling food trip to San Francisco, to one of the most stunning places in the world – Hawaii. A year in which I published two cookbooks and a year that was full of exciting jobs such as filming 11 recipe videos for dm and giving a speech for Google.
In the end, 2016 is the year in which it seems I learnt so much about myself and especially about the importance of being healthy, have a great family and supporting friends. I am excited for 2017 – a year in which I want to concentrate fully on Mindfulness.
“Mindfulness practice means that we commit fully in each moment to be present; inviting ourselves to interface with this moment in full awareness, with the intention to embody as best we can an orientation of calmness, mindfulness, and equanimity right here and right now.” ― Jon Kabat-Zinn, Wherever You Go, There You Are. Happy New Year everybody!
